Windows 11 Cleanup Checklist for Gaming PCs

Before changing obscure registry values or disabling security features, clean up the easy stuff. A gaming PC can accumulate launchers, overlays, update agents, RGB utilities, capture tools, vendor software, old games, and background services over time.

1. Review startup software

Disable launch-at-login for game stores, chat clients, updaters, peripheral tools, and tray utilities you do not need every boot. Keep hardware and security services you rely on.

2. Remove software you no longer use

Old launchers, benchmark tools, trial utilities, abandoned game clients, OEM extras, and utilities left over from previous hardware can add noise. Uninstall them normally before scanning for leftovers.

3. Check overlays and recording tools

Game overlays, capture software, performance monitoring, RGB suites, voice chat, and launcher overlays may all hook into games. Keep the ones you use; disable or remove the ones you do not.

4. Clean temporary files and caches selectively

Temporary data and old caches can consume storage. Shader-cache cleanup can also force recompilation later, so do not treat every cache as junk just because it is large.

5. Review power settings

Make sure the PC is not stuck in a power-saving mode that conflicts with your intended use. On laptops, remember that maximum performance can mean more heat, noise, and battery drain.

6. Test before touching high-risk options

Security and virtualization changes should come last. If the system already performs well after ordinary cleanup, there may be no reason to trade away protections or compatibility for a theoretical latency improvement.

How Khuna's tool fits

Khuna's Windows Cleanup Tool groups startup review, uninstall cleanup, privacy settings, caches, power choices, and optional gaming tweaks in one checklist. Higher-risk options remain visible and separate rather than being included automatically.

Measure the game you actually play:A tweak that changes nothing for your real bottleneck is not an optimization.
